‘Controller’ is a short 2d animation, which tells the story of actions in everyday life based in England. The story focuses on technology because there is no doubt that technology has become essential to everyday life. Specifically smartphones, a high tech device that has become not just an object but an extension of our body instead. Smartphones are overtaking our daily lives because they offer an amenity to people such as constant Internet access, applications on all in one device and communication with friends, family and co-workers. I am concerned that the convenience of this device may ruin people’s interaction. People seem bogged down in their own world these days. They ignore face-to-face conversations and do not pay attention to their natural surroundings. In consequence, my aim is to encourage
viewers to reassess their everyday living with a smartphone.

The animation will show daily life scenes of a future world where a smartphone is a key factor for everything, speculating how the future could pan out. The main character is called BeeDoo; unfortunately he goes over the limit of using his smartphone. This is a turning point in the story that makes the character unable to use his smartphone for a day. The animation aims to show life without a smartphone and indicate the comparison between two different lives. This animation aims at communicating the message “ Don’t let a smartphone control you. You are in control of it “.
